MONTHLY SUNDAY RUNS

We've decided to change from weekly to monthly runs, on the FIRST SUNDAY OF EVERY MONTH. We believe this will increase attendance, making the runs more of a special event. Please note that the time has also changed - we now meet at 10am. Please be on time, to avoid being left behind!

Monthly Sunday Runs are on the first Sunday of every month. Dates are in the Events table below (scroll down).

The Sunday run is nicknamed the 'Roadster Run', simply because any and all roadsters are welcome. Whatever the make, as long as it has two seats and the roof comes off - you're very welcome to turn up in it! Typically a run will involve a couple of hours' driving followed by a stopoff in a cafe. Some regular Sunday runs become Events, in which case full details will be posted in the Events table (scroll down).

Monthly Sunday Runs - When and Where

10am prompt at Heatherdene car park, adjacent to the Ladybower reservoir on the A6013 just north of Bamford. See maps below, or click here for more detailed map.

See you there at 10.00am !

PEAKS AND PENNINES COAST TO COAST
CHANGE OF PLAN

Sorry but there seems to be a wedding on in Masham that Saturday and all rooms are being taken fast, so it's going to be Richmond instead, just North of Masham.

I have booked myself in to the Seacotes hotel in St Bees, and have held 5 rooms for others, so if you intend coming on this trip I strongly advise you to book soonest, the rate is £60 for the double room and £8.50 per person for b/fast. At the earliest opportunity please contact the Seacote Hotel (01946 822 300) to book your accommodation for the Friday night. At 12 February there is plenty of room.

The Bed and Breakfasts in Richmond tend to be quite small. A search on www.yell.com will bring up a substantial list, as will any other B&B search engine. As long as it’s in Richmond (Yorkshire!!) you’re fine. Parking can be tight, so it’s worth asking about this when booking. (Try this Google search, or this page and scroll down to Richmond. Webmaster.)

If you want to pay to be in the center then there are rooms available, at a price. I am booked into the Bridgedown House, but they are now full, again I suggest you book early to avoid disappointment.

More info

The break will be over 3 days and will be done using scenic roads. The agenda will be roughly as follows:-

Friday 18th early pm - drive to St Bee's in the Lake District. Stay the night.
Saturday 19th - drive to Richmond, North Yorkshire stay the night.
Sunday 20th - drive to Robin Hood's Bay nr Whitby, then home.
This is an extension of our previous Muker runs, so those of you who made those runs will have an idea of the roads and scenery that awaits us.

Please be aware that it is a driving weekend, so you will spend a majority of it in your car, however it is broken up with plenty of stops and the drives involve stunning scenery.

There will be a restriction on numbers. app 12

The Hope Motor Show, Monday 21 June

Held in the heart of the Hope Valley, the show attracts over two thousand people year thanks to an eclectic mix of historic, classic and modern road-going and competition cars and motorcycles.

The MX5 Owners' Club has an allocated display area, free admission to members displaying their MX-5s, members from all MX-5 Owners' Club groups are welcome. Last year parking was £2.50 for cars not on display, if it's gone up this year it won't be by much. Hand-pulled ales and BBQ food available.

This is an iInformal event, arrive any time after 6:30, depart when the sun goes down. It's a popular event so get there early!

Silverstone Classic 2010, 23-25 July

Due to the overwhelming interest in this year’s Silverstone Classic (over 80 car clubs will be in attendance), there will be a quota for each club.

You can read more about the event and how to book here and here. If you plan to attend, I recommend you order your tickets early.

Remember to quote booking code SC10MX5 when booking tickets.

We are considering organising a P&P run to the event. If this appeals, please email Jill to express your interest. If enough people show an interest, a run will be arranged. Please keep coming back to this page for further information.
